On Friday evening, on our way home to Dublin from Crete, I found myself aboard a hot and rather crowded bus at Athens airport when my son, Luca, piped up with an intriguing question, "Have you heard about that plane that just keeps on crashing?" An interesting choice of topic when you are soon to board a flight! "I haven't," I confessed. "The Boeing 737 Max," Ciaran chimed in, his expression suggesting he knew all about it. "Tell me more," I urged, feeling somewhat out of the loop regarding what seemed to be common knowledge.
Forgive me if I'm sharing something you also already know. Five years ago, Boeing confronted the aftermath of two tragic crashes involving the now infamous 737 Max 8 aircraft, one in 2018 and another in 2019. All subsequent flights were grounded until the company poured billions into bolstering safety measures and rebuilding trust in its aircraft. Yet, just as they were hoping to soar again, further technical issues emerged. Issues remain unresolved and uncertainty reigns.
Have you ever noticed how many of us resemble that plane when it comes to sleep?
Many people fail to resolve their sleep issues and keep pushing through. When we fail to prioritize sleep, we're essentially putting our health and lives at risk. *A lack of sleep is the number one cause that puts you at risk of developing cardiovascular issues, dementia, inflammation, and emotional instability. Yet, despite a growing awareness of the importance of sleep many of us continue to neglect it and suffer the consequences.
**A staggering 62% of the global adult population admits to not sleeping as well as they'd like.
Human beings are the only species that actively choose to deprive themselves of quality sleep. In my forthcoming book, ‘Sleep Well, 8 Habits to Help You Fall Asleep, Stay Asleep and Wake Up Refreshed,’ launching this Thursday, April 11th, I'm confident I have a unique and solid solution to helping people finally ‘fix their sleep’ and feel safe to take to fly high each day.
Like any transformative therapy, I can't achieve this alone. I rely on my readers to engage consciously with the process. Dermot Whelan, who wrote the foreword, aptly described the book as "a map to guide you toward a lifetime of beautiful, restorative sleep." I've drawn the map; now, all you need to do is follow it. Trust me, making subtle lifestyle adjustments and believing in your capacity to sleep well will revolutionize your life.
Subconsciously, you don’t have to do anything at all.
The eight new hypnotherapy audios accompanying the book will gently ease you into sleep every night. Here, you don't have to lift a finger; the magic lies in listening, as you program your mind to embrace the eight sleep well habits and cultivate a sense of presence, patience, and peace.
If you or a loved one has grappled with sleep issues, you understand the profound toll it takes on every aspect of life. I'm on a mission to transform people's relationship with sleep, fostering compassion and generosity. It's a mutually enriching relationship that keeps on giving.
While this book is designed to be accessible and easy to digest, I have to admit, it's been the most difficult book to write.
I've taken a complex subject, both scientifically and subjectively, and made it accessible. Though I've sweated blood (not literally) and tears (truly) during the creation of this book, I'm delighted to report I haven't lost any sleep since starting the process. In fact, my sleep improved night after night.
I would be so grateful if you could pre-order it today - you will get it delivered to your door this week!
When you pre-order from Easons you will automatically be entered to win some luxurious sleep-related gifts, including a place on our one-day retreat, the King Koil Sleep Well Experience on Sunday, May 19th where I'll bring the book to life and host a question and answer session. All my love and sleep well,
Fiona. xxx
